Paper Thickness

Paper thickness is expressed in “kg”, where a higher number indicates a thicker sheet. The value represents the total weight of 1,000 sheets of the base paper. Although base paper sizes vary, Printnavi uses the 四六判 (788mm×1091mm) size as the standard. In general, thicker paper conveys a stronger sense of quality and professionalism.

Features of Coated Paper

Coated paper is finished with a glossy surface coating, giving it a smooth texture and allowing photos and illustrations to be reproduced vividly. It is ideal for visually driven items such as restaurant menus, flyers, and direct mail postcards.

Matt Coated Paper

Uncoated Paper

This paper has no coating, giving it a matte, non-glossy appearance. Colors print more softly, with a natural and warm texture. It pairs well with designs that aim for a simple or organic look, and it is suitable for handwriting and stamping.

※【Important Notice】About Solid Color (ベタ塗り) Designs on Uncoated Paper

For designs that use solid color backgrounds (ベタ塗り),uneven color may occur due to a combination of factors. We recommend avoiding heavy solid-color areas whenever possible. This is especially common on uncoated papers with low surface smoothness and natural texture. Even when printing is performed correctly, the uneven surface can cause light to reflect irregularly, making the color appear mottled. If you plan to submit a design with large solid-color areas, please understand the above in advance..

Coated PP Laminated Paper
