Upload Checklist

To ensure smooth production and high-quality results, please review your data carefully before uploading.

If any issues are found in the submitted data, we may need to request a resubmission, which can result in changes to the original delivery schedule.

Recommended Software and Data Formats

Our recommended formats for print-ready data are as follows.

Software Name File Format
Illustrator AI format (CS–CS6, CC–CC 2025)
PDF format
Photoshop PSD format (CC 2017–CC 2025)
TIFF format
InDesign / Microsoft 365 (Office) / Canva PDF format

If converting Microsoft Excel, Word, or other Microsoft 365 (Office) files into PDF is difficult on your side, please consider using our Artwork Creation Service.

Important Notes and Limitations When Submitting Data

File Name Requirements

  • Do not include multiple periods (dots) in the file name.
Why: When a file name contains more than one dot, the distinction between the “file name” and the “file extension” becomes unclear. This may cause our system to misidentify the file type and result in processing errors.
    Example:
    DO: design_v2_final.pdf
    DONT: design.v2.final.pdf

PDF Annotation Features — Important Disclaimer

  • PDF files containing comments, highlights, or other annotation features created in Acrobat or Acrobat Reader may cause unexpected issues during the print workflow.
  • We cannot guarantee print quality or correct output for data containing annotations. Please avoid using these features when preparing print-ready PDFs

Guarantee Limitations for Non-Recommended Formats/Software

Some file formats and software may increase the risk of printing issues.

  • Supported but non-recommended formats: eps, jpg, png, bmp
(These can be submitted, but issues arising from them are not covered by our guarantee.)
  • Unsupported software: QuarkXPress is not accepted.

To ensure accurate output, please submit data in industry-standard formats such as PDF/X-4, or CMYK data created in Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop.

Uploading Sample Images & Processing Instructions

Correct Upload Method

Upload reference images and processing instruction files only through the “Upload Sample Image” field.

Risk of Incorrect Upload

If reference images or instruction files are uploaded in the same field as the print data, our system may incorrectly treat those files as print-ready data and print them unintentionally. To avoid this, please use the correct upload field for each file type.

Please upload these files separately using the designated upload field.

File Naming Rules for Reference Images & Instruction Files

To ensure our data check team can clearly identify files that are not intended for printing, please include the following keywords in the file name.

Examples for Reference Images (samples)

Japanese examples: sample, confirmation_image, preview, screenshot, capture English/Romanized examples: mihon, kakunin, sample, screenshot

Examples for Processing Instruction Files

Japanese examples: processing_instructions, folding_instructions, processing_sample
Accurate naming helps prevent accidental printing and speeds up the data-checking process.

Compression Format & Password Protection

Recommended Compression Format

  • If submitting multiple files, please compress them into ZIP (.zip) format.
  • Other formats (LZH, RAR, etc.) may not extract correctly in our system, so please avoid using them.

Important: Do NOT Set Passwords

For automated data processing, please do not password-protect the following:

  • ZIP files
  • PDF files

Password-protected files cannot be opened by our system and may cause delays or be treated as submission errors.

Data Size Requirements

Upload Size Limit

  • Maximum file size for direct upload: 1GB

For Large Files (over 1GB)

Please use an online storage service.

How to submit large files:

  1. Upload your data to an online storage service (e.g., GigaFile, Google Drive).
  2. Write the download URL in the “Special Instructions” field during ordering.
  3. Because our system requires at least one file to be attached during ordering, please upload a JPG preview/sample image in place of the print data.

After your order is accepted, we will download the print data from the URL you provided.

About Illustrator Link Files

Embedded Images Are Recommended

To avoid missing-linked images or other errors, we recommend embedding images directly in your Illustrator file.

If You Must Use Linked Images

Please organize your files as follows:

Folder structure:

  1. Create a folder in the same directory as your Illustrator file.
  2. Place all linked images inside that folder.

Folder name examples:
りんく (link),リンク (link),link, links, images
This helps prevent missing links when we open your file.

Important Notes for Linked Images in Illustrator

File Formats That Must NOT Be Used as Linked Images

Do not use the following as linked images:

  • .ai files
  • Illustrator .eps files
  • .pdf files

These formats may cause:

  • garbled text
  • incorrect line widths
  • unintended scaling
  • other unpredictable errors

Please use raster formats such as JPEG or TIFF for linked images. Issues caused by unsupported linked formats are not covered by our data check.

Unexpected Image Rotation

Images may print in an unintended orientation due to metadata (EXIF rotation information) stored in the file.

Prevention: Before placing the image in Illustrator:

  • Open it in an image editor (e.g., Photoshop)
  • Rotate it to the correct orientation
  • Save the file, then place it in Illustrator

This ensures the printed orientation matches your intended layout.
